Cody Tyler serves as Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) and Managing Director at EXOS CYBER, where he leads the cybersecurity practice focused on protecting clients’ infrastructure, data, and critical operations. His leadership combines deep technical expertise, strategic vision, and a passion for developing people and practical solutions that make a real-world impact.
Cody joined EXOS as a Cybersecurity Manager, initially supporting just two clients. Through his dedication to innovation and problem-solving, he has helped grow EXOS CYBER from a small practice into a thriving team that now serves more than 50 clients across municipal governments, private businesses, and public-sector organizations. Under his guidance, the team has built cybersecurity programs for organizations starting from the ground up, delivering measurable security improvements while balancing business needs and resources.
Earlier in his career, Cody served in the U.S. Air Force, where he conducted cybersecurity assessments for Air Force bases and worked on mission defense teams protecting critical weapons systems. After transitioning to civilian life, he became a cybersecurity engineering lead at Raytheon Intelligence & Space, where he led cybersecurity efforts for the F-16 fighter jet program and supported other high-profile defense initiatives.
At EXOS, Cody is driven by the opportunity to continue his dedication to public service. He finds purpose in protecting not only businesses but also the communities and public services that people rely on every day. He thrives on solving complex security issues and building systems and teams that can keep pace with the fast-changing cybersecurity landscape. He takes pride in mentoring his team, helping individuals grow from entry-level roles into leadership positions, and fostering a culture centered on continuous learning and problem-solving. Cody believes cybersecurity is not just about technology but also about safeguarding the essential functions of society, often without people realizing the threats that have been prevented.
He firmly believes that in cybersecurity, staying ahead requires constant learning, a mindset that fuels both his own career and the teams he leads.
Cody is a member of the Indiana Executive Cybersecurity Council and contributes to industry groups focused on improving security practices for critical infrastructure and local governments.
